Michael passed in August of 2005, and his boat was donated to the North Carolina Maritime Museum. The Museum received the boat and all of Michael's boat building tools. They completed the boat and decided it would not be suitable to keep as a training vessel so they decided to sell it. They notified the family and Marc and Carey bought Trinity from the Museum in 2006.
Trinity last sailed in 2006 in Beaufort, North Carolina and then was transported to New Jersey. She sat out of the water, and due to family, storms and other activities was transported to Lockwood Boat works where she was outfitted for an engine. She was shrink wrapped in 2013 and sat until the spring (March /April) of 2019.
This website and photo album are a dedication to the memory of
Michael Pilato and Trinity and additional photos will be uploaded occasionally as she sails in August 2019.
Trinity Lives is a website written and edited by Carey Pilato, brother of Michael Pilato.
A special thanks to Lockwood Boat Works and close family, cousins and friends from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rochester, NY and California who provided extra encouragement to this task.
